INTERNSHIP
Every year the Symphony Orchestra Biel Solothurn TOBS! organises summer and seasonal internships for young musicians in collaboration with the SON Swiss Foundation for young professionals.
They have the opportunity to rehearse and play concerts with the musicians of the symphony orchestra for one month (summer internship) or for an entire season (seasonal internship).
Applicants for both the summer and seasonal internships will be selected at auditions in Biel in spring 2026.
SUMMER INTERNSHIP 2026
from August 3rd to September 3rd, 2026

Participation in large and small-scale projects of the Biel Solothurn Symphony Orchestra TOBS! in the cities and regions of Biel and Solothurn.

Highlights from the planned repertoire: J.S. Bach, St. John Passion, concert at the Lakelive Festival, concerts with works from all eras and well-known operas, participation in the 1st subscription concert of the symphony orchestra with works by Dvořák and Mahler.

Professional audition training with the musicians of the symphony orchestra

Register rehearsals and coaching by mentors from TOBS!
SAISON INTERNSHIP 26/27
from September 2026 to June 2027

INFORMATION & TERMS & CONDITIONS

At the time of registration, proof of enrollment at a Swiss university must be presented. Foreign nationals require a B permit for the duration of the internship.

Max. 30 years old (born in 1996)

Seasonal internships are generally only possible after completion of a summer internship (the jury decides on exceptions).

As a rule, only one seasonal internship per student is allowed in Switzerland.
